I am a PhD candidate at the University of Waterloo, working with Dr. Christopher Fletcher, where I am investigating the performance of reanalysis-based soil temperature estimates. I am particularly interested in how errors in reanalysis snow cover are contributing to performance issues in the winter, and in the shoulder seasons. We are looking for station data with collocated soil temperature, snow depth and SWE measurements (in order to be able to derive an estimate of bulk snow density) to be used for validation against reanalysis-based soil temperatures, and snow density.
